Mardi Gras dressers

I painted these a few years ago and just remembered them going through my portfolio. They were painted for a 9 year old girls room.

Buffalo River painting

We had the opportunity to go back to the Buffalo River this past weekend. It was beautiful; I thought of this painting and decided to post more pictures of it. It is spray paint, enamel, polyurethane, and black oil paint. 3'/4'
I wanted a bright blinding river , large and overwhelming. The spray paint separates when urethane is poured into it. This creates cracks, similar to the landscape of the area. I traced the drips and curves of the layers with black oil paint, giving it depth.

Painted stumps

Really, sometimes it's about experimentation. I've started this series with trees fallen by Clear Creek. I chose wood that has interesting patterns.
